Perseus in Florence
The 1545 bronze sculpture of Perseus holding the head of the evil Medusa that he had just cut off, thereby restoring order. It is a metaphor for Cosimo de Medici for restoring order to Florence in kicking off Renaissance. It’s considered by some to be the most beautiful bronze statue ever made & it was by Benvenuto Cellini.
